Liverpool must beat Arsenal to keep their hopes of finishing in the top four alive, says Paul Merson

Paul Merson said If they were to get a chance, Jurgen Klopp’s team must win at the Emirates If Liverpool does not win at that time, the gap will be huge.

Paul Merson says Liverpool must beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday if they are to get a chance to finish in the top four in the Premier League.

Merson believes it is a bigger game for Liverpool than Arsenal as the only way the Gunners can enter the Champions League is to win the Europa League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side sits four points ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League table but with a five-point gap to make Chelsea fourth place, they can’t afford to lose another place.

Liverpool’s main game: –

It’s a great game for Jurgen Klopp and his team-mates in the Champions League next season.

On the other hand, I don’t think it’s such a big game for Arsenal. I would expect at least five players who will play next Thursday not to play in this game

Arsenal eggs are all in one basket:-

All Arsenal eggs are in one basket now. It doesn’t make sense for them to beat Liverpool and then be beaten by Slavia Prague. That is of no use to them.

The top four come out of the league window. There are too many groups above them, even if they go a little further.

But after the quarter-final draw, they have a good chance of doing something in the Europa League.

The time is right for Liverpool:-

This is when you start talking about time. He looks at the run-ins and thinks that Arsenal is far from a tough Liverpool game, but suddenly, the game comes and Arsenal has won Slavia Prague in the Europa League.

They can’t get into the top four. It’s not the easiest game in Liverpool in the world, but there are some games now that can be difficult.

It’s all about time. A good time for Liverpool to face Arsenal because, honestly, Slavia Prague is Arsenal’s biggest game.

The Reds need the Champions League:-

It’s hard when the players have been around the world and you have to make them fall down and run fast in the Premier League.

It could work for Arsenal’s benefit even though the focus is on ensuring it is in the Europa League. They have time to bring back the players, recharge their batteries after a worrying international schedule, and then prepare for next Thursday.

They should not rush them all back to Saturday night’s game as Liverpool should.
Liverpool must win this game. They should get Champions League football next season.
People tell me they don’t have it but still, they do. It’s Liverpool. I would say Anfield and then Celtic Park are the two best European nightspots in all of Europe. Europe wants Liverpool for that reason only.

Defeat can make the gap too wide:-

If they get a chance, Jurgen Klopp’s side must win at the Emirates. If Liverpool does not win, the gap will be huge, in my opinion. It could be eight points wide with eight games left to play.

However, if Liverpool can beat Arsenal, it will be a huge success for them. Suddenly, one of their tough games disappears and Chelsea has their easy game as we reach the most important part of the season.
